GLEAMviz 5 is out!
A new major release of the GLEAMviz Simulator client is now available!
We have always worked on GLEAMviz aiming at a cross-platform computational tool, supporting the installation on all major operative systems. In order to ensure this feature in the future and improve the scalability and performance of the software we have decided to rework the GLEAMviz client application completely. The new 5.0 release has been developed using Qt Quick (http://qt-project.org/) and finally allows all features of the software to be used also on the Linux operating system.
The new 5.0 release also features some extra visualization options that have been added to improve the software usability. Those include the possibility to zoom the network graph in the Spato visualization (to identify or select more easily the cities), the possibility to configure background image, seeding colors etc. and to show cumulative data in the globe visualization, etc. Some minor usability issues have been fixed as well.
We are working hard on adding new features and functionalities, especially improving the data analysis and visualization capabilities of the client. We will start in the next few weeks to deliver new features that will be released only for GLEAMviz version 5, so we invite you all to download and try this new release. GLEAMviz client version 4.X and version 5.X can be installed simultaneously on the same machine with no problems, and can share the same simulations.
To install the new client please go to this page and download the installer for your operating system; running the installer will set up and configure the client application. Active users that successfully registered on server version 4 can still use their accounts on the new server. New user, in order to use the Simulator you will have to register on the server, with exactly the same procedure used for registering on version 4 of the Simulator.
